Wearing contact lenses safely requires more than just knowing your prescription. Our contact lens clinic provides the full clinical pathway — from the initial suitability assessment through to your annual aftercare.

Our optometrists are experienced in fitting all lens types, including toric lenses for astigmatism and multifocal lenses. We take the time to get the fit right — not just at your first appointment, but every year.

The full journey

Your Contact Lens Journey

From your first appointment to ongoing annual checks — here is how our contact lens clinic works.

Book Now
Contact lens examination

A dedicated appointment covering your prescription, corneal curvature, and tear film health — different from and in addition to your standard eye test.

Trial fitting

We fit a trial pair and check the lens centration, movement, and comfort on your eye using a slit lamp. Adjustments are made until the fit is right.

Insertion and removal training

We teach you how to put lenses in and take them out safely. Most patients are confident within a few tries. We do not rush this stage.

Take-home trial

Take your trial lenses home for a week. We provide care solution, a lens case, and a full wear schedule and care guide.

Follow-up aftercare

Return to tell us how the lenses felt. We confirm the fit is still correct and check for any early signs of lens-related complications.

Annual aftercare

Every year, an aftercare appointment is recommended to update your prescription, assess eye health, and ensure your lenses are still the right choice for your eyes.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who wants to wear contact lenses must have a contact lens examination — this is separate from a standard eye test. It includes checks specific to contact lens wear such as corneal curvature measurement and assessment of tear film quality. It is required even if you already wear lenses and are switching optician.

UK guidance recommends an annual contact lens aftercare appointment for all wearers. This ensures your lenses continue to fit well, your eyes remain healthy, and your prescription is current. Wearing lenses without regular aftercare increases the risk of serious eye infection.

The NHS funds a standard sight test but does not cover contact lens examinations or aftercare. These are private appointments. We will give you full pricing information before you book.

At your first contact lens appointment we will fit a trial pair so you can go home and try them for a week. This is included as part of the consultation process. There is no obligation to continue or to order from us.
